The Sensory Submarine set sail in 2022 with a clear purpose: to support children's development through expert-led paediatric occupational therapy services in Northern Ireland. Founded by Grace—an experienced occupational therapist and mum of two—our mission is to provide high-quality, play-based therapy that helps children thrive.

We specialise in paediatric occupational therapy assessments and interventions, supporting children with autism, sensory processing differences, developmental delays, Down syndrome, ADHD, and other complex needs and special educational needs (SEN). Our services are rooted in clinical expertise and a deep understanding of child development, designed to build on strengths and support functional skills in a playful, child-led way.

We collaborate with schools across Northern Ireland to offer:

Classroom observations and practical recommendations
Small group occupational therapy sessions
Staff training on sensory regulation, motor development, handwriting and inclusive strategies
Ongoing consultation and support tailored to each school community

We deliver bespoke training packages to charities, community organisations, and early years teams, covering topics such as:

Food Fun For Fussy Eaters

Alongside our therapy services, The Sensory Submarine also offers inclusive and accessible sensory play for children of all abilities. Our baby classes, including tummy time-focused sessions, support early development and give parents practical, playful tools to nurture their baby’s sensory and motor skills in a relaxed, supportive environment.
